Objective: Development of Danish oil and gas production

Maersk Oil is international oil and gas company with activities onshore and offshore in Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and Northern Europe. Maersk Oil is the key player in the safe and successful exploration and production of the Danish North Sea reservoirs, applying advanced subsurface modelling, ground breaking horizontal well technology and cost effective development solutions. Maersk Oil’s expertise in carbonate reservoir development and production has led to the increase of recovery factors from below 5% to today’s expectation of 28%.

Further technological advances are needed to release the remaining potential of Denmark’s tight chalk reservoirs and to increase oil and gas recovery above today’s expectation. With a step change in research activities via a new Danish research centre for oil exploration and production it will be possible to capture knowledge from leading universities in the field and develop applications tailored for the Danish industry. The combination of focused research and Maersk Oil’s global experience will form a strong foundation for maximising the value of Denmark’s natural resources.

The goal for Maersk Oil in Denmark is to contribute to a more secure energy future by safe, responsible and cost effective solutions, maximising value from exploring and developing oil and gas at home and further afield.
