Biography:
Born: December 12th 1966
Martin Lidegaard holds a Master’s degree in Communications from the University of Roskilde (1993).
After completing his education he was Head of Information at Kommunernes Forsikring from 1993-1995, an insurance company for municipalities and their employees. In 1995-2001 he was Head of Information and Assistant Secretary General at ActionAid Denmark.Also he was Charirman of environmental and foreign development committee, Danish 92 Group. In 2008 he took up a position as Communications Consultant at RelationPeople.
2008-2011 he was the Co-founder and Chairman of the environmental think tank Concito.
In 2001-2005 he was elected to parlament (Social Liberals) and served as party’s spokesperson for energy, transport and food policy. From 2005-2007 he was re-elected as MP (Social Liberals) and served as party’s spokesperson for climate, environment, social and transport policies.
Appointed as Minister for Climate, Energy and Building in 2011.
